DATAMARK VEP will help ease transition to NG9-1-1

June 12, 2018

Today (June 12, 2018) marks an important milestone as we’re officially launching DATAMARK VEP, our software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that validates, edits and provisions GIS data for existing 9-1-1 systems while smoothing the transition to next generation 9-1-1.

The team developed DATAMARK VEP to meet the challenges of evolving public safety 9-1-1 technology which, ultimately, will lead to an overhaul of legacy systems with NG9-1-1. The solution and supporting services within DATAMARK VEP support first responders, including, 9-1-1, police, fire, EMS and the GIS data providers and addressing authorities across the United States.

GIS data is fundamental to NG9-1-1 and it must be updated in near real-time in next-generation public safety systems. Today, many of the nation’s nearly 5,000 public safety answering points (PSAPs) are just starting to focus on their GIS data readiness. What many find is their data is either incomplete or poor quality. Others find they simply have no GIS data that can be used outside their current 9-1-1 systems.

Our secure, cutting-edge solution looks at all aspects of the GIS information provisioned to a NG9-1-1 system – from data creation and cleansing to data quality, integration and maintenance workflows. The DATAMARK VEP software resolves the upgrade challenges, improves public safety communication location precision, and ensures the data meets the stringent NG9-1-1 requirements.
